The Founding of Felleg'Avin
The metropolis of Felleg’Avin grew up out of the land surrounding the Vincseyan Confluence, which tradition holds is a gift from the goddess Vincseya to the peoples of the Faraway Brothers a loosely confederated group of city states that fought against the Emperor in the Godslayer War. After Great Lie was perpetrated on the world the previously rich lands of the Faraway Brothers became besmirched and befouled by the war and strife that the Lie was designed to cause. The formerly allied armies of the Faraway Brothers came into conflict with one another over controlling the still pristine lands surrounding the Caetar River.
This conflict drew the attention of Vincseya who would not abide these noble people, who were followers of her father and mother, warring amongst themselves over these lands sacred to her family. She appeared to each of their leaders in their encampments and compelled them to go to the ancient temple of Caetar which sat atop a hill. The leaders and their retinues converged on the spot and Vincseya promised to provide all the lands sustenance on the condition that their wars cease and they erect temples to her mother Valdeme and to her. The soldiers swore an oath on the spot and witnessed a miracle as the Caetar River doubled in width and a new mighty river rushed rapidly from the North and merged with it. A massive spring appeared at their feet and encircled the land around the temple. She told them that this spring would never dry up if they did what they had promised.
The two temples to Valdema and Vincseya were built flanking the temple of Caetar on the land encircled by the spring. The hill was encircled by a high wall with guard towers and over several years aqueducts were extended in five directions to supply the homelands of Faraway Brothers. A pact was sworn that the cities would supply an elite guard to keep the spring protected and a clergy was also supplied to honor the goddess and her parents. The name Felleg’Avin translates roughly to the Most High Citadel of Vincseya.
