Call to Arms
Far up in the frozen north dwell the Eiszwerge, the blue skinned, white haired frost dwarves of Isenheim. The crystal fortress of Isenheim is truly a wonder to behold. Cleverly placed lenses and mirrors catch the sun and northern lights, bathing its halls with a magical array of colors that gleam and glisten across the glass like pillars and walls of ice and diamond. The Eiszwerge delight in puzzles, riddles and in any new knowledge they can discover. And will often trade their wares for rare books and tomes. Consequently, the library in Isenheim is one of the largest and finest in all the world, and the Eiszwerge some of the most well read of the races.
Through their long winters, these dwarves toil tirelessly, crafting the most intricate and delicate works of beauty ever to be found among the races. Their glacial mountain fortress is home to great veins of silver, platinum, and mithrill. As well as what seems to be an endless supply of coal with which they fire their great forges. Yet all this wealth pales compared with the vast sums of gems and diamonds discovered daily in their mines. Eiszwerge jewelry and chainmail are some of the most prized and envied treasures of the nobility, and will pay incredible sums to acquire even the smallest of trinkets.
Of course, rumors of such wealth attract those who would take it, and the Eiszwerge are not without enemies. Frost Giants, Yeti, and the most dangerous Vampires, would take it if they could. But Isenheim’s defenses have thus far proven the stronger. Above the formidable natural defenses of the frozen stronghold are well lade traps that when triggered cause avalanches that decimate entire hordes in one fell swoop. Any survivors must then face the wrath of the mighty Tempest clerics of Kruss! Not to mention Isenheim’s Polar Bear Calvary! Then once within the crystal gates lies a maddening maze of mirrors and traps that few could best without the guidance of the Eiszwerge.
